The Couple & Their Search for The Best Location for their South Lake Tahoe Elopement
Rocio & Raul first inquired with me fall of 2019 for a couples session. Like many other of my sessions, I am extremely laid back and always try my best to make my couple feel their most comfortable. I took their photos, came back home and started editing. I think it’s safe to say that all three of us were over the moon with the outcome! Little did I know; that one year later, I would be shooting their South Lake Tahoe Elopement!
THE PROPOSAL
Two months after our first photo session, Raul popped the question and Rocio said YES! As a result, Rocio had asked me to be their elopement photographer.
– You can bet your butt I said hell Yass!
PLANNING THIER SOUTH LAKE TAHOE ELOPEMENT
Our initial plan was to go to the Sequoias for their elopement. Rocio has such a free kindred spirit and the redwood trees were calling her name. However, a mixed cocktail of COVID X WILD FIRES. Made us revisit our plan.
Before we new it, we we were pretty much searching locations throughout California. I had suggested an Airbnb to my bride and before we knew it; her fiancé’s friend came to the rescue, and offered his family home located in South Lake Tahoe for their ceremony.
ELOPEMENT DAY!
The day had arrived for Raul and Rocio’s South Lake Tahoe Elopement! As I made my way through the deep forest, upon arrival I was left in awe of the place. The tree’s were tall as ever, with its very own private lake. The day even came with overcast skies and a slight breeze. It was the perfect setting for Raul & Rocio. The owner of the home mentioned, they hosted several ceremonies at their home. For instance, they would offer outdoor activities such as kayaking for church camps.
Rocio and Raul said I DO in a private-intimate ceremony. Their Lake Tahoe Elopement took place in the deep forest of Lake Tahoe on an October evening. It was such a great feeling to watch them embark on this new adventure as wife and husband.
So consequently, I have learned that a back up plan is needed when it comes to planning an elopement.
If and when things do not go as planned, Make sure to have options. For example, Airbnbs are great options to consider. Yes, Airbnb’s are highly restrictive hence “no parties” my advice is to always ASK & be HONEST. You never know what they’ll say until you ask. Most Airbnb’s are willing to work with you; all depending on the size of your party, try keeping it small as possible.
REMEMBER this is YOUR DAY, do things that matter to you as a couple!
